In fact, it is just about the single most important book that I have ever read on dating.For those who do not know what Hemingway and Love are, it is a book that can be used in school classrooms to teach about dating and relationships. In fact, it can be used for class as an adjunct text. It will be a good resource for students, and most likely, many of them will use it.In Hemingway and Love, Warren Farrell explains the psychology of relationship and dating with humor and empathy. Much of his writing is humorous, but his psychology is real and true.The first thing you learn in Hemingway and Love is that men are much better than women at maintaining a loving and caring relationship. You may think that this was obvious before, but the number of surveys in recent years indic ating that women want commitment and that men do not is very telling.It is also important to understand that as a man gets older, he is more likely to fall into a pattern that makes him less desirable. He will become a little bit more unattractive. While this should not result in a shortage of romantic partners, it does mean that he may be less likely to find a long term partner, a man who is committed to a serious relationship.Hemingway and Love also explain the effects of long distance relationships and how they can break down. Many people complain that they cannot communicate well enough to satisfy their partners. Hemingway and Love explain why this is so, and it does not mean that you are not worth communicating with, but it does help make your relationships much better.Finally, Warren Farrell uses a lot of his own stories to illustrate his ideas about relationships and dating. Often we read about successful relationships because they are so well written that we do not take the time to look for evidence about failed relationships. Hemingway and Love tells the story of a few of the more common relationships and some of the failures, but I did not feel that these were enough to justify it.On paper topics, this is a great book. When taken to the course, it would be difficult to find a better book to use for the paper topics. The ideas are so clear that the presentation would be too important to miss out on.
